Yanks lead the all time series 1075-879 as of today.
Yanks are 26 time World Series Champions, including 4 in the last 10 years. They have been AL Pennant winners 39 times. They have been AL East Champions 15 times including the last eight. They have been in the playoffs every year since 1994. They have 34 Hall of Famers. Yes, I know they have a ridiculously high payroll. But they spend the money other teams wish they had.

Now the Red Sox. They are 6 time World Series Champions, including 1 in 86 years. Eleven time AL Pennant winners. Five time AL East winners. Have been in the playoffs 5 times in the last ten years. They have 29 Hall of Famers. I know they came back to take the series against the Yanks in '04. I also know that is one of the few years they had a winning record head to head against the Yanks.
So where is the argument? The Yanks spend money. Yes they do. Deal with it. They are all time the better team head to head. What can you guys say now?

I know nothing......Cano, Jeter, Posada, Pettite, Bernie, Rivera, Wang, Melky Cabrera(who will be a star), Phil Hughes, Eric Duncan, Soriano...I know some aren't still there but still. Who have the Red Sox brought up? Manny-no, Pedro-no, Varitek-no, Ortiz-no...they have Nomar and Papelbon.

and before it is said...yes I know that Nomar is not still there...and forget to add Damon as a no...free agency obviously is what works for the Red Sox as well.

I don't think there has ever been an argument as far as Yankee fans are concerned. Boston fans, not the Red Sox themselves have created the rivalry. It's just their misfortune that they were all born just a little too far north!!!! lol!!!

Your description of the Yankees history just proves my point. Let's just state that the New York Yankees franchise is the most successful professional franchise in sports history...and will continue to be so for many many years to come.

What arguement? The guy with the most money wins, period. That means Geo Steinbrenner....he can buy the best players, he can buy the umpires, he can buy the Championships....it's a team in the biggest marketing area in the country. Why wouldnt they have the most money? The fans are the drunkest, rudest, most obnoxious people on the face of the Earth. Even when the Yankees are in the toilet (which happens occasionally, even to the mighty Yankees) they never shut up. And the biased media makes up stories just to feed the frenzy, like all that crap about Manny taking himself out of the game the other day because of Jeter...none of it was true, just more propaganda from the most obnoxious team who just promote the worst about the Red Sox. Oh yeah, and if Jeter gets MVP instead of Ortiz this year, then something is REALLY wrong.

We all know the Yankees have the most history when it comes to winning. How do we know? Every Yankee fan brings it up every year when they lose.

Get over yourselves, really. A Championship is good for a year, but after that its just another stat. The Yanks have had 26 years where they can talk some smack, besides that they have lost like everyone else.

I'm sorry but if your a Yankee fan and you lose, can you for once just say "Oh well, maybe next year." NOT "HEY WE GOT 26 CHAMPIONSHIPS, HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE!?!" Let it go already. We know, we know, we know.

Oh and one more thing, if the Yanks don't win it this year with this team, I'm sorry that's just pathetic. They have possible future hall-o-famers in their 1-7 spots in the batting order. (I'm putting Cano and Sheffield in there)

Well, if you want to end the argument, you will have to bring about the end of both teams. THAT will end the argument.

Short of that, the status is...

=> The yankees are ahead in overall games played
=> The Yankees have more historical achievements
=> The Red Sox have been gaining ground in recent years
=> The Yankees and the Red Sox get beat by worse teams each year
=> The Yankees are more mercenary than ANY other team - they don't grow their own talent
=> The rivalry is fun

So if both teams disappear, the Yankees would win right now. But until the end...there is no end.

I can't say anything other than Go Yanks! and SWEEP!

Plus, guess who the second hishest payroll belongs to, that's right, the BloSox. So anything about us buying players is ridiculous because Theo Epstein can just as easily match it. The thing is, him and Terry Francoma don't want to focus on this year, they want to focus on the future when there will be no Manny of Gay Papi.

I mean, how bad is it when your managers don't even care how you do this season????

Red Sox suck, Jeter for MVP

You're never going to end the argument. This is one of the greatest rivalries in all of professional sports. Baseball as a whole would lose out if it ended.

Having said that, would either of these teams be nearly as great if MLB had a salary cap?

The Yankees don't throw old semi-retired coaches on the ground. Like Pedro in 2003.

no matter what facts or stats you show this (as well as other baseball arguments) will never end. If it did it would mean people didn't care about baseball anymore and the game would die.

By the way I hate both teams.
