Are you coming to the Detroit area? One place you don't want to miss if you'll be in or near Detroit is The Henry Ford in Dearborn. It consists of a historical village (they used to call it "Greenfield Village") and the Henry Ford Museum -- VERY cool. If you'll be visiting before the end of September, try to see the Hollygrove Renaissance Festival in Holly (close to Detroit) and you should also try to get up to Mackinac Island -- fun boat ride, lots of stuff to see and do, and it boasts the hotel with the longest front porch in the world. Some other things you may want to check out are Canterbury Village near Lake Orion (close to Detroit), the city of Frankenmuth (about 2 hours from Detroit up I-75), the Yankee Air Museum in Belleville (also close to Detroit), the historical community in Holland (west coast of the state), and the city of Grand Rapids (about 3 hours west of Detroit) has a lot of great things to see and do, like Meijer Gardens, the Grand Rapids Museum, and the renovated downtown district. P.S.: Don't even think of taking in a baseball game in Detroit -- the Tigers are leading the American League, so pretty much every ticket for the rest of the regular season is sold out.

The State of Michigan has sturdy places in which a kin can visit except Detroit. another places that vacationer want to visit are Mackinac Island, Traverse city, Grand Rapids, and the better Peninsula. Michigan is a tourism state or maybe with the very undeniable actuality that Detroit isn't a vacationer city does no longer mean that Michigan can be a vacationer state.

From your other questions, I deduce you are coming to the USA from UK to attend a wedding in Michigan and wonder what to do in addition. You can do some useful research at http://www.michigan.gov Click on the "Travel and Recreation" tab at the left. Combinations trips like this are a great way to stretch your travel funds.
Be sure to get good travel insurance. Even though you will be with friends, there are dozens of things that can happen in an instant to spoil your trip. The industry leader is TravelGuard International. Their "Worldwide Health" insurance covers health issues as well as trip interruption issues. Go to http://www.wavehelp.com/travel-medical/index.htm and click on the red phone booth. You can buy your coverage on-line.
I highly recommend you get your travel insurance from a source separate from your transport arrangements so as to avoid any conflict of interest.
Have fun.
Best wishes.

Mackinac Island. I have never actually been there but I have heard that it is beautiful. Also if you are a history buff you could drive thru Detroit. There are still places there that have not been restored from the riots. I think they took place in the 60's. If you are into Rap Eminem is from Detroit too. Enjoy and be safe.

Yeah skip Michigan and go to the Florida keyes. Or Orlando, or the mts in NC, or anywhere but Michigan. Unless you want to buy a car.
