You're fired, or I quit.
Indefinite hiatus, I've not heard that one before. It means you are leaving work for an undetermined amount of time, meaning it might be a week, it might be forever.

A strict definition (divorced from specific circumstances) would be:
"some kind of a break or interruption in an activity (a hiatus) that will last for an unknown period of time."
For example, a website placed on indefinite hiatus will be down until further notice. Taking an indefinite hiatus from your job means that you are leaving it and you don't know when you are coming back, but that you have not officially quit and therefore may return.
The difference between "ending" or "quitting" and an "indefinite hiatus" is that in the former case the activity has ceased all together, and that in the case of a hiatus the implication is that the activity *IS* going to start back up again, but it is unclear when.

and indefinite hiatus means that they are going on a hiatus, or taking a break, for an indefinite amount of time, meaning that they are on break until further notice. It is unlikely they will be getting back together anytime soon though, as they have been on this break for well over a year and all have there on projects now, Tom now has angels and airwaves, while Mark and Travis have plus 44. There was some issues between Tom and the rest of the band that led to there break up.

Disturbed the band from Chicago was on an indefinite hiatus. They just announced that it is over and are releasing a new album. It just means "Taking a break for an unknown amount of time". threskiorn is correct.
