If alcohol can be legal why not marijuana. We all know the effects of both we've all tried both so come on and weight in.

What most people fail to realize is that it was not that long ago it WAS legal. Hemp was considered to be an up and coming cash crop in the thirties....but greedy rich people decided to manipulate it because it cut into their profits in other industries.

'The emperor has no clothes' is a book written by a man that has devoted his life to exposing and promoting the good and the bad regarding marijuana...some interesting information to say the least.

I think it absolutely should be legalized for people with health problems that could gain relief from it. Many studies have been done regarding this very thing, but again, power and money rules. Drug companies wouldn't want it to be legal, so I doubt it will be in our lifetime. Propaganda has been spread to people about how bad it can be, but I think anything has potential to be 'bad' for some people, just maybe not for all.

I can't answer why it shouldn't be legalized. I would only be willing to cast my vote that it should be, for appropriate reasons.

I have thought about this a long time and I have also said that I would LOVE to see marijuana legalized but for one reason only and that is to keep the narcotic agents and the police from cashing in on this by ripping off people under the table and when stashes of one million dollars are found(for example) they turn in a finding of only $100,000. They (the police and narcotic agents) are getting filthy rich off of the non-legalization of marijuana.

On the other hand, legalizing marijuana would significantly reduce the price, reduce the amount of money that taxpayers are paying for corrupt police but would undoubtedly bring about more crackheads..the problem is that one starts out with marijuana and then goes onto more dangerous drugs.

I think that marijuana should be legalized, but with laws similar to that of alcohol. Such as:
NO ONE under 18 can buy or consume.
You can only smoke (marijuana) in certain places (Called a "weed bar") or in the privacy of someone's home.
No driving under the influence.
You can only carry a certain amount on your person at any given time.

While I personally don't use the stuff, I think it is a personal choice and alcohol is much worse on your body than marijuana.

It could make a lot of money but at the same time, it could be regulated which means that there would have to be standards set and in place. Think of it as quality control. Personally I don't indulge but I have friends that do. I have nothing against it and if the government were to legalize it and tax it, they could get a better control over who purchases it, meaning teens and tweens. Then again, there's nothing stopping a 13 year old from buying a pack of cigarettes from a vending machine when no one is looking.

I think because if they made it legal, people would grow their own and they wouldn't be able to tax that. Also it makes tons of money for the state being illegal. If it were to become legal, then the government would put chemicals in it, like cigarettes and it would not be the same. It might be better off illegal than legal. Like someone told me once, marijuana makes you wise and that's one thing they don't want us to be. Also I know someone who has smoked it for 20 years and they are in good health with no side effects. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

My friend did a lot of marijuana and now he suffers from the condition of Organic Schizophrenia. Besides that the smoking made his teeth rotten and had to have 6 teeth taken out. He's now 27!

It should be legalised to control it better. The governmet can also tax it then!

If people want to do it they are going to find a way to do it.

Education is the key to prevention!

As long as it was illegal to smoke then I wouldn't mind. If it were taken by pill or liquid or something like that because anyone near the smoke will feel the effects of it and it smell horrible too. Of course their should be age restrictions.

No politician is going to publicly support the legalization of marijuana. Therefore, it will always be illegal.

I agree under strict regulation. Like alcohol, continuous use has side effects.
