Has anyone gone on a Disney cruise? If so, what ports of call did you visit? Did you travel with children? How was the cruise in general, and how were the excursions? Did you take part in the excursions, or wing it along on the islands? I have the dvd from Disney and a guidebook (passporter.com) but. I'm looking for more info from regular people. Thanks!

This is my favorite thing in the world to talk about! We have been on two Disney Cruises and loved them both! I have been on 4 cruises all-together, so I do have something to compare them to.

The first DC we went on was the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas which we did before we had kids. It had stops in Nassau and DCL's private island Castaway Cay. In Nassau I just walked around and my husband went on a snorkel excursion, which he enjoyed. Castaway Cay is mostly a do-it-yourself place, but it was fantastic!

The second DC we went on was with our daughter when she was almost 4. She had a wonderful time. She would wake up in the morning and ask when she could go play with the other kids! There are tons of activities for the kids all day long, and lots of character appearances, too. We did the Western Caribbean which went to Grand Cayman and Cozumel along with Castaway Cay. We were happy with the excursions, which we booked through the cruise. It may be cheaper to book outside, but as we've seen this year, if there is a problem and you booked through the cruise line, they will make sure you get back on the ship.

Our cabin both times was inside, which compared with other cruise lines was very large, definitely comfortable for three people. Our waiters and room steward were all top notch, remembering our preferences and needs without having to be asked. The food was excellent, the entertainment was great, and we really had a great time.

My husband wanted to do something besides DCL this year, so we went on a Carnival cruise. It was one of the new ships. The price was somewhat better, and we had a nice time, but it wasn't nearly as nice as Disney. The decor was odd, the food was marginal, the service wasn't as good, just less than we've come to expect being pampered on the DCL.

If your schedule is flexible, you can find great rates with Disney. Also, summer of 2007 they will have one ship in the Mediterranean! Wow, what a way to see Europe with your kids!

Happy Sails!

We did the three nighttime and four nighttime equipment on the right of would. We were on the Disney ask your self. i'm happy we did the parks, it became a sensible addition to our vacation. 4 nights on deliver became a blast, plenty to do for each age. service became tremendous, nutrition became okay to sturdy. we've 2 daughters a 16 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old and a 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old. They both fairly loved themselves. Nassau became fairly crowded, did slightly bit walking round and went snorkeling. might want to have basically carried out the snorkeling. The market section became slightly overwhelming for me. forged Away Cay became an excellent form of exciting. sensible and relaxing with plenty to do. The BBQ became fairly sturdy. We did the part ray journey there...became an excellent form of exciting. yet hearken to the man...save your hand flat!

Disney is overpriced!...Just take the Carnival...it's better, money wise.
