3 part question for the guys paying CS.

1) Does it piss you off when you see all these other guys running from their oblagations, and you get treated like sh*t at update hearings when you do your part.
2) Does it upset you when You see your money being sent in to support your child being spent on "her" other kids or boyfriends , ect, not on your child. ( I know the difference in house hold expenses too, I am talking aobut blantly wrong spending)
3) Any of you have ex's that collect monthly and tell everyone your a deadbeat and don't pay. (Mine told her new husband till I started printing out the states website records and giving them to him when I picked up my daughter)

Thank you for posing this question and I have to agree with what you've stated...

Another thing that I can't understand is the fact that child support that righteous and honorable men do pay is not tax deductible!

In order to make those payments, some men have to take additional part time jobs or live like a bum; only to be taxed more for the extra income.

Ladies... before you criticize the question or some of the answers, please consider that there are still some men out there who divorced, NOT because they were unfaithful... NOT because they were abusive... NOT because they wanted out of the marriage. These are men who love their children dearly and are willing to move heaven and earth just to spend a day with their child.

For you fathers that are holding it down and taking care of your babies; I say keep your head up, continue your love and support, and God bless!

I would just like to comment on this part alone. I do not collect support...I am married to the father of my 3 children..HOWEVER, my sister does collect support from her daughters father. You may see her spend this money from support on other things in her life...BUT everyday of the year she is paying out for her kids..school, school clothes, daycare, groceries, birthdays, holidays, medicine, ice-creams, shoes, a day at the zoo, gas to go to grandmas, new toys, a bike, a pet....She's a good mom and makes sure her kids get all they need and most of what they want...She may have spent 100 dollars on her daughter two days prior to getting her support check...a sort of pre-spending the check because she financially has the money to cover those expenses before it arrives. Now when she cashes that check, sure, now she has some money back that she can go do what she needs to with. She doesn't do her kids wrong and when it 's all done and said, the money the father is paying is spent every month on that little girl......And I would also like to say I know women who pay support and feel the same way about the man spending the money wrongly....I feel, it's just another reason to be pissed off at your ex in my opinion. As long as your child is well taken care of, healthy, has all their needs met you should be thankful because there are alot of real creeps out in the world who treat kids like ****...and yes, even their own mothers and fathers, especially after a break-up and they take the anger at the ex out on the child.

I am not a guy... but i see this going on with a friend of mine (she bad mouths her ex ) he's always on time with support and gives more than courts ordered it's a shame some ex's have to lie to make themselves look better she gets the oh your doing great raising your daughter without help from her dad i guess it helps her ego , I have seen his canceled cks (i am friends to both still ) but shes ticking me off , I think some men just get burnt by their ex's unfairly (my opinion) and i do see where she spends her child's money from him on herself (100$) for hair salon cripes plus he has her more than the mom the dad always has his daughter (which is a Great thing) trying to figure why mom does not have her more???

i am paying for an 18 son-about 4 months of back support.

i am paying back support to the state for 1981 when i couldn,t work, couldn't find work. this support is allegedly for my daughter, 28 and her older sister i adopted 6 weeks before exwife filed for divorce. i haven't seen my adoped daughter since 83. ex wife died in 94 and state really think my kids get benefit of what i pay. the county gets a gold star for collecting it.

It's a symptom of a larger issue: where some people feel it's OK to use the children as game pieces in their fight with an ex, and that some people are just not cut out to be parents.
