We are in southern NJ and would travel up to 2 hrs. This is just a day trip, to go somewhere we haven't been to before. Cost isn't a huge issue. It's just a fun end of summer day out for the kids, ages nb, 7 & 12. any ideas?

Hit up a sports event in the meadowlands, hop on a train and go to new york, hit the casinos in AC, Great Adventure is fun, Wildwood and Cape May are nice now that summer is almost over...

In PA the Crayola factory is in Easton, Hershey park is a good bit away too...

Try Philadelphia. Its fun and turns out it can be educational for your kids too!
I liked learning about Betsy Ross in school and thinking 'hey, my parents took me to her house in Philly!' It makes a great connection during the school year. And you can't beat a Philly Cheesesteak.
Depending upon what part of Southern, NJ, you may also like Lancaster, PA, or Poconos.
