If the legislature passes the law then it will be legal. II think it would be a good idea.Look at how many cases have been solved with DNA.

LEGAL..??? I do not fully understand all the complexities of the law on this subject.., SO.., I will leave that to our legislators.
Do I feel that to be prudent, the collection of DNA..,YES!!!
Criminals start out petty.., no intent on becoming the next Kowzinski or Bundy.
BUT , violating the LAW, even at the misdemeanor level, IS the start down the slippery slope.
You must admit, it would be much nicer to solve a crime because [WE] as a nation had put the safeguards there, than to all be scratching our heads trying to figure out..........,
IF KARR REALLY DID KILL LITTLE RAMSEY!!!
POINT MADE..????

I'm not much on Legal Issue's, don't know.
But it would be Great if we could have a National I.D. Card, with DNA on it IF lF IF IF and I say again IF it was NEVER USED FOR EVIL AND WICKEDNESS.
That Information could really be used for HARM.
YOU have to FIGHT in the EARTH Right Now for FREEDOM and to Keep what you got and REMAIN FREE.
Did you know that our Fore-Father's came up with this SYSTEM of GOVERNMENT KNOWING that Men could Turn EVIL and use it for BAD? That's why they put CHECK's and BALANCE's in our GOVERNMENT so if Part of it went BAD, the Other Part's would have a Chance to STRAIGHTEN IT OUT.
AMERICA, Land of the FREE, Home of the BRAVE.
GOD Raised up AMERICA so HE could send HIS People into ALL the WORLD.
Tell'm bout JESUS.
Wouldn't want to Live anywhere else.
Thanky-JESUS

Yes. Fingerprints are taken when people are arrested and booked. DNA is the same sort of thing. If laws are passed, this is legal.

I believe both yes and no.
Yes, because this would help immensely with crimes and tracking down who responsible perpetrator is.
*Although just because you "know" who it is by their DNA it doesn't mean DNA will be present at the crime scene, or you can actually find them!*
No, because with DNA and the idea of stem cell research it could all be a huge disaster.

No freakin way!!!!!! If they ever pass this I will turn in my citizenship!!! That would be outrageous and I swear to God if one person says but its to keep us safe you deserve to be thrown overboard and fed to sharks!!! Seriously what the hell is next, tracking chips implanted behind our ears for own safety!!!! I mean how far can they go in the pretense of keeping people safe!!! This is not right and will never be right and I would never set foot in this country again before turning over my DNA for a national database.

Felony yes. A national registry of DNA of sex offenders in particular is helpful. Why not if we can take fingerprints?

the government needs to leave everyone's DNA alone unless maybe it's some of the evidence at the scene of a crime. if you believe in DNA.

of course. it should be as common as collecting your fingerprints. how is it any different? if it improves the police's chances of solving crimes I say go for it.
