FLORIDA & CALIFORNIA the third sunk!

2006-08-25 01:57:40 · answer #1 · answered by Λиδѓεy™ 6 · 0 0

Florida, Michigan, and Alaska. Maine isn't a peninsula because it's connected to Canada. No part of it actually sticks out into the ocean enough to be classified as a peninsula. California doesn't have a peninsula either. Baja California peninsula belongs to Mexico.

Edit: Wow, Tiffany... You definitely need to pay more attention in school. There are FIVE great lakes, and a lake isn't a peninsula. A peninsula is a piece of land that sticks out into water, like the long part of Florida.

There are a hell of a lot more than three peninsulas in the United States, small and large.

Baja California(actually Mexico), Florida, and the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. And technically Michigans Upper Penninsula (above Wisconsin) too. I believe there are many more, but those are the major ones size wise. Wisconsin and Minnesota both have penninsulas' that extend into Great Lakes. Most of the coastal states have some type of penninsula along their coast. It is called a panhandle when land surrounds it instead of water.

Let me guess, you have no geography background have you? Even if there is a peninsula, there might another peninsula on it so who know how much. But if you are talking about general and the Big, major one, then here it is.

There's got to be more than three but how about Cape Cod (MA), Florida and the Delmarva (which consists of parts of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia).
