Look, wrestling is indeed an act. My good friend used to wrestle professionally in the 80's. He was several different characters and would get beat down by Ric Flair and the like. But injuries occured all the time, including stitches, broken bones etc.

Half of the people who replied to this question just said the same thing - wrestling is fake/staged/insert your own.
It was common knowledge to wrestling fans that it was a work in the 1960's. I don't think they need to be told anymore.
A cut in wrestling is always a real cut, with real blood, whether it is intentional or not.

WWE wrestling is for entertainment purposes. The matches they fight are choreographed and rehearsed. The winner of the match is decided ahead of time. However this does not mean that the participants are not talented athletes. Nor does it mean that the possibility of injury doesn't exist because it does.

It was an accidental injury. Undertaker was meant to hit him twice with the chair whilst he was on the steel steps. The first time he missed (on purpose) but it was a really weak swing. The crowd moaned. He then swung pretty hard and hit him. It was an accident and it is understood that Khali was pretty upset. The same thing happened to Mr.Kennedy at GAB however Flair and Foley 'bladed' at Summerslam. Blading is intentionally cutting yourself so you bleed

Don't even know how anyone can watch that rubbish, as some others say its all fake, all the moves are planned out before the event, they hid a microphone in the dressing rooms once and you heard them saying things like i'll win today and next time its your turn.

Real stitches. Not supposed to happen, but sh*t does happen, especially when you're playing with chairs and 300 lb guys.

Some "accidents" happen accidentally, and some are staged. Only their choreographer knows for sure. Besides, the viewing audience goes way down, without any blood...so YOU figure it out.
