As long as it is above 32 degrees, you can hang out your clothes. It usually stays warm enough in Wisconsin to do this until sometime in December, but Wisconsin being Wisconsin, it depends on the day - it does get cold!

I lived in the Dakotas growing up and my mom used to hang some of the clothes on the line in the winter and my brothers levis would be frozen when she brought them in and later dried them on a line inside of the house. It did`nt make sense to me..but I guess mother knew best...

Actually my coworker was talking about this yesterday. Her husband hangs them out in the winter (in NH) then brings them inside and stands his pants up, since they are so frozen. haha :)

Yes...I did, but all it did was freeze. So when you bring it in, the frozen clothes will thaw out and will still be damp!

I have done it in -30 temps and it did work. But I'll stick with the dryer

they actually dry faster as the humidity is lower and the air absorbs the moisture faster

there is such a thing as freeze dry which works, but I perfer the dryer
