I've heard its rare but does happen. The best way to make sure everything is ok is to tell your doctor. If he says its normal then you're fine. If you are unsure that you are pregnant and are menstruating, then i'd see a doctor to make sure.

Yes and no. If it is truly a menstrual period, then pregnancy will not occur. But not all bleeding is menstrual. In fact, many women will have midcycle bleeding around the time of ovulation. Bleeding can also occur due to polyps or cervical problems that can make you believe you are on a period, when the bleeding is actually due to another cause. You may think you are safe, but you are actually at a fertile time.
Bleeding that occurs 14 days after a rise in basal body temperature and immediately following the fall in temperature is likely menstrual and is a safe time for intercourse if you do not want to get pregnant.

I had some spotting, but not a full period when I found out I was pregnant three days later. Some people mistake implantation bleeding for a period, especially if their periods have always been light. I have heard some women will still get one or two light periods during the first trimester, but if you KNOW you are pregnant and begin to bleed, I think you need to see a doctor soon. Escpecially if it is bright red, very painful or heavy with clotting.

It is possible for a woman to get her period after getting pregnant, depending on the timing. Something like that could also indicate an ectopic pregnancy, though, so it couldn't hurt to see an obstetrician.

When I thought I was 8 weeks pregnant, it turned out I was 28 weeks pregnant, I had normal periods, my daughter was eventually born 5 weeks premature so it seemed like I was only pregnant for 15 weeks.

I had a light mentrual period for the first two months when I was pregnant the first time. My doctor said that although rare, it does happen due to the increase in hormone production.

It is possible, I once knew a girl that had her period the whole 9 months. It depends on the person. Ask your doctor for more specific reasons and conclusions.
