When I was pregnant I seriously worried that I was going to have an "ugly" child..Seriously, it was high on my list of concerns...but I ended up with 3 beautiful children..honestly! And I can tell you that when you have children they will be beautiful as well. We can worry all we want, but the fact is you can't do anything to choose what your child will look like. A healthy baby is most important. Don't get yourself worked up and worried about whether or not your child is going to be beautiful in others eyes...he/she will be the most beautiful thing you've seen when you meet him/her for the first time....

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You wrote, "I have seen some simple looking people producing most beautiful kids...". What makes those children attractive and pleasing to your eye is not about physical appearance but rather something else more truly beautiful, something that comes to children's faces when they feel safe and well-loved . . . even by "simple looking parents". I am deeply moved by that look in children's faces and seek it out. Our genes may determine if a child will be physically attractive of face. But, only the love and security that we provide our children can bring that radiant look of true beauty to our children's faces.

You have chosen a very complicated question to ask. Unless you are really into science and genetics you probably wouldn't understand if I were to go into the whole biological study of genes. Heck, I barely understand it! Putting in smaller terms....genes are traits that parents have and children are predisposed to...some genes are more prominent that others...like your wifes blonde hair gene might be stronger than your dark hair gene so the kids would have blonde hair...get it? Do a web search on genes and you will be amazed at the information there!

Have you noticed that all parents are a bit prejudiced when it comes to their children? Most children are beautiful. They can keep that beauty by eating healthy and getting enough exercise. It is important that they learn some discipline and know the difference between right and wrong and live by the example that their parents have given them.

Your genes are the blueprints for making you. When you were formed you got half from your mother, in her egg, and half from your father, from his sperm. Humans have 46 chromosomes so you got 23 from your mother and 23 from your father. These chromosomes are arranged in 23 pairs of 2. On the chromosomes at certain locations or 'alleles' are your genes which are made up of DNA or Deoxyribo Nucleic acid. These determine what colour eyes you will have, how tall you are, how smart you are etc. Usually there will be a dominant gene on one particular chromotid and a recessive one on the other. (A chromatid is one strand of a two pair chromosome) These genes have been passed on to you from your parents, which were passed onto them from your grandparents and so on. If your parents have brown eyes and you have blue eyes then both your parents carry a dominant brown eye allele and a recessive blue eye allele. However when their chromosomes were sent to the sperm and egg (oocyte) through a process called meiosis, you would have received 2 copies of the recessive blue eye allele which in turn would have given you blue eyes. This is quite a random process and there are certain factors which affect which genes go where. Some of these are crossing over (where part of a gene from your mother might swap with a part from your father), mutation (Where the DNA sequence of your genes are changed by things such as replication mistakes and radiation) or 'which sperm which egg' (This depends on any one sperm which has received certain genes from your father and any one egg which has received certain genes from your mother. These genes can come from either from one chromatid on your mothers side and one chromatid on your fathers side as the chromosomes split into single chromatids during meiosis). This means that every single sperm and egg contan differing combinations of genes which means that it depends on which sperm fertilizes which egg to whether you will have attractive children. If you and your wife are both attractive then it is likely that you will produce attractive children but because your genes and DNA came from your parents/grandparents/great grandparents it is possible that if they were unattractive then those genes could combine from your mothers side of the family and your fathers side of the family and produce children which are unattractive. Hope this helps you.

It depends on how you wear them...okay, okay...
Your genes are simple connections to your parents, their parents, and any other parents in your gene cycle...You may get the genes of an untidy character way back when...Just have your kids and enjoy them...Don't care what they look like! Or what develops...

too much spandex, not enough polyester,... Poor quality cotton.

maybe those aren't really their own kids. they could be adopted or foster kids, or even kidnapped kids. How are you so certain?

All babies look the same, when they are babies. When they are growing sometimes they are adorable other times they are hideous little monsters. How do you know they are beautiful, all of the time?

There are so many genetic factors involved, some of which are influenced by random chance, that absolutely nothing is guaranteed. And that's not even taking into account the possibility of genetic mutations.

you never know what is going to happen with children, genes do not necessarily tell you how someone will act, what they will look like and all that
