Why don't you ask him? A marriage has to be based on love, trust, and fidelity. If you're this suspicious you may need to reevaluate your marriage. Search for the problem between the two of you, not for an unavailable cell phone number. Mistresses don't end marriages, uncommitted husbands do.

Easy -- ask him.
Look, it's clear you don't trust him. You need to put that lack of trust, and your reasons for the lack, on the table. The two of you would do well to sit down and have a long talk. Tell him about your feelings of insecurity, and tell him what he could to that would help you to feel more secure. Only by opening a dialogue can the trust in your relationship begin to be re-established.
Snooping will only work if you find out he's been cheating on you AND then you leave him, which is a pretty bad result. There are other potential outcomes of snooping; for example, what if you find out that the number on his cell is innocent? In that case, the fear, distrust, and suspicion all remain for the NEXT time an unidentified call comes in.
You're only going to start feeling better in this relationship if you start communicating, openly and honestly.

I'd take the direct approach. Ask him about it. (Unless you know him to be a good liar.) If he's evasive or defensive on the subject, you'll know it's time to get suspicious.
As a husband, I don't particularly advocate sneaking around and spying on a spouse. It shows a lack of trust and, if he finds out and there's nothing to it, he may not be too understanding about the spying.
However, if you've got more than just phone calls that make you concerned - a change in your relationship with him (especially a lack of intimacy), he's "working late" a lot more, or wants to go places without you with no good reason why - then maybe it's time to call that show "Cheaters" on WB to check him out.

You just get that "gut feeling". You can either confront him about it, or keep checking on his cell, e-mails, and other accounts. Be sure you get checked for STD. Good Luck.
