they are fungus gnats, let soil dry slightly between waterings, they live - and their eggs live in the surface of the soil. If you don't want to use any chemicals, remove the top 1\2 inch of soil and replace it

I don't like chemicals, but get a spray for aphids and put your plant in a plastic bag. Spray the spray on the plant in the bag and close the bag for about 30 minutes. That should kill the bugs. Sometimes the nest in the dirt if you take them outside in summer and they do make a pesticide that you mix into the dirt. Do every plant in your house, or they will reappear. Be sure and do this in the shade outside or you could cook your plant in the bag. Also, wear a MASK! They make those poisons smell good, but they are BAD!

If you've got someone's ciggies, soak two in some water and spray the plants. The small insects living on the plants don't like the nicotine and the plants aren't harmed.

Probably fungus gnats- they are often associated with overwatering. They live in damp soil. I usually put a sundew (Drosera) next to the infested plant and the gnats go away pretty quickly- the sundew eats them...

Use Soapy Water they hate it put dish soap in the water use a spray bottle & soak it good they'll be gone they hate that stuff works good outside as well

go to lows or any garden center and get the spray that is for the purpose of killing/preventing bugs...and is safe for the plants
