Janusz or Janosz is Polish for "John". It comes from Hebrew originally, but being a Christian name, has so many forms in different languages.
There's also a writer under pseudonim "Janosch", he wrote the kids' story about a little tiger and a little bear who wanted to go to Panama but instead came back home and decided than home is best :)
