The post above mine is kind of interesting, actually. Some species have evolved traits that are harmful to the individual but nonetheless help him/her to procreate. For instance, some birds are very colorful. Surely this is bad because they are easier to spot by predators and prey. So why are they so colorful? Because chics dig it (get it, chics, nevermind). The females might prefer the bright colored males because they are obviously tough if they can be so colorful and still be alive. There may be something similar going on. Women are unconciously attracted to bad behaviors because they show that the guy is strong enough to survive despite his own stupidity.

though some may argue like getting drunk it can show off the quality of your genes to individuals of the other sex - if you can handle it it shows your body is good/fit enough to handle that extra stress. So it may play a role in mate choice.
