How do u define powerful? Power to blow up the world? Power to drop bombs and threaten nations which do things differently from what it things? Power to refuse to accept climate change as a reality as it would upset big corporations? Power to consume 25% of the world's consumption of fossil fuels when its population is 4.5% of the whole world?
Katrina's anniversary is upon us. Remember they way the nation reacted to that?

A system of government and an economic system that permits people to reach their potential and be free and productive. That allows us to be strong.

I do not like to be arrogant and put down other nations, but many, many people are trying to get INTO the US, not leave it.

simple..... MONEY. The U.S. is one of the richest countries in the world. It also has the largest air force, navy, etc. It's also the most technologically advanced & updated.
