The US has always had a quiet relationship with Israel. I mean, there is the alliance and everyone knows it. But we stupid Americans generally don't pay attention to the massive miltary support that we give to Israel. By the way, this accounts for more the majority of our foreign aid! So you could see why the US would not be talking about this.

1. Because it is the NY Slime. 2. There is nothing wrong with supplying Israel weapons to defend itself, at least since Jimmy Carter left office.
