I'm building my own site and I want to animate a few pictures - both rotating and a few other effects. I've converted the Jpeg's into Gif's but despite having Serif ImpactPlus 4 I can't find out how to get the pic's to move.

Please help - Bank holiday and the helplines shut!!!!

Thanks!

You have two choices: first is to create animated GIF images with an specialized editor (try "HVS AnimLite") and place them into your HTML document with a simple tag.
The other choice is to create a picture for each frame of the animation and place them in a single folder. Now create a script that will change the "src=..." attribute of the tag with the speed you like. Have the script to run immediatlly after the page is loaded and... That's all. You have here the advantage of strict control of the changes of frames (ex. you can create a script that animates the image in certain conditions, a certain time, a certain number of frames etc.)

I actually work for Serif. As far as I know there is Impact Plus and Impact Plus 5. Never heard of Impact Plus 4.

There are a few options

search the web for animated GIF's

Create your own GIF & use GIFTRANS (free) to join the seperate frames

Or use flash

Please don't over-do the animation, too much looks tacky.

You need GIF editing software to do this. I recommend the following softwares for that.
- Adobe Photoshop CS2
You can get this from the link http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/
- ULead Photo Impact
You can get this from the link http://www.ulead.com/pi/runme.htm

You will find plenty of tools and effect to create GIF animations with the help of these tools. Good luck with your web site!

There is an alternative.
You could use javascipt to animate the images.

That way you don't have to redo the images everytime, just upload them to the server with the same name and the javascript will do the rest.
