Nano-technology is basically really, really small machines. Things which are a few nano-meters in size or smaller. One nanometer is one billionth of a meter - or 0.00000000001m

In comparison a human cell is in the region of 10,000 nanometers, so a nanomachine about 100nm wide could possibly travel into a human body and repair cell damage.

Pico-technology has also been speculated about, this would involve things 1,000 times smaller again

I think you mean 'Nano' technology. It's the technology of building very small machines, possibly on the order of only a few thousand molecules.

It is called Nanotechnology, one word. It is technology based on the nanometer which is essentially one billionth of a meter. It can be a motor that can fit on the tip of a pin!
