Yes. I think you are stupid asking that here when you should be reviewing your rental contract and asking your landlord. ...but I suspect the landlord would not approve so you ask here. One other thing to be aware of...in most cities you can not make any sort of structural change legally without a permit and/or a licensed contractor. If the city finds out about it you will be heavily fined.

Ask the landlord. None that I know of would want such things done without permission.

Why would you ask the opinion of people here? If you receive 100 responses saying "Sure, go ahead he won't mind" what do you think will happen? When/if he does get pissed are you going to bring out our responses? Gee all of these people who don't know you, me, or anything about your property said it would be ok.

Think about it. Ask your landlord. Read your rental contract.
