I don't know exactly why. It happened to my mother, only she bled the entire 9 months and didn't belive when a doc told her she was pregnant.

All I can think is that when PG, your hormones are out of whack. Maybe there are surges of certain hormones that make your body believe that a period is in order...

I don't know why it happens but it definitely happened to me! I had been TTC for 18 months. I had a perfectly normal period but found out I was pregnant two weeks later, when I started bleeding and miscarried.

If you are TTC or having unprotected sex, you should still take a pregnancy test, even if you have your period!

Just happens for some. Has happened to me. Never really had any big symptoms with any of them and absolutely no clue with a couple. Either had a period or none at all (breastfeeding). I really feel for the women who suffer the worst of it. It's a shock, but actually quite nice because when I did find out, I was over halfway done.

i don't know. i agree it's wierd. Maybe if they're on birth control they still have periods because the bc regulate periods.
