If you download it from the net, the program will check if your computer is genuine. Since it isnt it will ask you to resolve this issue everytime you go on the computer. You won't be able to download it. This can cause problems later.

sorry to tell ya no chance that u'll have windows 1 work on ur machine if u had a windows copy no geniune cos microsoft had a new system it checks if the windows is a geniune or not if not geniune it stop u from having the windows player 1 to start working and critical updates stop downloading from microsoft site it is shame but don't try ever to try downloading the windows player 11 and try to let it work on ur machine cos it'll report the microsoft that u got a stolen windows and can harm ur system just wanted to let ya know hope that inform u enought:).

Yes there shouldn't be any problem for installing WMP 11 on non genuine version of windows.
Here in my country there is pirated versions of Windows all around, and they work the same way as the orignal one.

a friend of mine had this problem with her windows software bcause her son installed a bootleg copy of windows pro on her computer. she had to get her old disc out and completely redo everything.. everytime you go online your computer is sending microsoft a message that your copy of windows is illegal. if you dont fix this problem microsoft will eventually do it for you.. its not pretty.

Maybe if you can find another source from which to download it. If your copy of Windows isn't genuine you won't even be able to download it from MS.

download winrar. rightclick on wmp setup & extract it to a folder with winrar. open it & delete the validatation dll file. then at the bottom there will be 2 setups. run them 1 by 1. it is installed u can find the setup by googling ive downloaded it
