New or old, but nothing too heavy, please!
I'm ill (but recovering, no worries) and need to rest. Haven't been watching many movies, these last months, and would love some suggestions.
Thank you for your answer and have a wonderful weekend! :)

Thank you very much to all who answered, especially to Caroline, for your great suggestions! :)
I love Sabrina, I first watched this movie with my Mom, who also loves it, when I was a little girl, and like to watch it again and again, whenever I have a chance. And I love Audrey Hepburn! :) ( Could you tell? ;) )

In no particular order :
Goonies - Husband's off the cuff pick, which I love too, & own.
Willow - Fantastic scenery coupled with an unusual adventure
Men in Black - Comic duo, great effects, and a what-if'er
Legend - Tim Curry is Spell-binding, an awesome fantasy
Shanghai Knights - Just good fun, maybe a bit campy
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World - Mom's first thought for funny
Princess Bride - Love love love this movie, will watch over & over
Contact - Great great story, something for all to consider
Babe - Adorable story with live animals & farmer's love of his own
Bug's Life - Cute animated adventure story, finding your place.
Toy Story - Fun for all ages, a mulitple times watch-able piece
Milo and Otis - Sweet story using a live Cat and Dog.
Flight of the Navigator - Movie of my youth that I still quote
Bridget Jones' Diary - Ah, a funny, she-perspective flick
the Family Stone - Hilarious and touching, tears & laughs likely
Fish Called Wanda - Surprise laugh out louds, good ensemble
CitySlickers - An out of their element comedy.
GhostBusters - great fun from the 80's, in parts genius
Muppet Movie - All I can say, life is better because of this movie
A Christmas Story - A holiday classic, of any American family
It's a Wonderful Life - A paths of life story not to be missed.
Far and Away - a taking risks, falling and getting back up story
Shawshank Redemption - heavy, but you'll be glad you watched
Liar, Liar - Jim Carrey hasn't been better, heartwarming
Big Daddy - Adam Sandler & being a good dad, unlikely combo
Spanglish - a much better Adam S as a dad movie, fun-ny!!
Big Trouble - Dave Barry wrote this, cracks me up w/ cleverness
Love Actually - This is a "you-must-go-out-and-rent-this-AT-ONCE" movie. Adore every last quirky character, and they have yet to make a more etherally beautiful boy as the step-son Sam. But lots of truly fantastic stories wrapped up in one great bow, and if anyone isn't completely won over at the end, they just don't get it. Best British ensemble cast ever, with the truly apt addition of American Laura Linney. A guaranteed favorite.

an older movie that I liked was called The Jack Bull starring John Cusack and John Goodman,, it is a western type setting and a man trys to steal a mans horses and the whole thing escalates to a gunfight in which John Cusack is tried and hanged for a killing he did not do,, John goodman plays the judge,, It is well worth watching,, Another is the never ending story which is an animated show with a real boy who befriends a flying dog type animal and they have many adventures together, it is animated but very entertaining,, I am grown and loved it,, very good show,,

There doesn't seem to be anything great in the movies. It depends on what genre you like. May I suggest that you scan one of those online movie sites to make your selections? If you like suspense there is a movie called Dragonfly which kept me glued to the tv. On the humorous side, the Pixar films are not only cute, but some of them just make you laugh. Robots was pretty funny, then there was Shark Tale.

World's Fastest Indian (based on a true story)
Eulogy (comedy)
Dodgeball (was never a V Vaughn/B Stiller fan 'til I saw this comedy)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (cult fave for us)
Drop Dead Gorgeous (comedy-very light and odd)
Princess Bride (another family cult fave)
The Family Stone (NOT the slapstick comedy the previews would have us believe but a good story-Keaton is great in this)
Serenity (good story line...LOVED the old western language set in future sci-fi movie)
Any and all Jackie Chan movies especialll Shanghai Noon
Feel better soon!

Here are some of my favorites which qualify as "not too heavy".
THE PRINCESS BRIDE - Rob Reiner's classic comedy/fantasy/action adventure starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright-Penn, Mandy Patenkin, Andre The Giant, and Christopher Serandon with wonderful appearances by Shawn Wallace, Billy Crystal and Carloe Kane. A keeper on any collection.
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN - Mel Brooks comedy classic spoof of the Frankenstein movies featuring Gene Wilder, Teri Garr, Peter Boyle, Madelyn Kahn, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leechman, Gene Hackman, and Kenneth Mars. Lot's of laughs to be had here.
FINDING NEVERLAND - Johnny Depp stgars in this story about the man who created Peter Pan.
BENNY AND JOON - A wonderful comedy about a mentally ill young woman finds her love in an eccentric man who models himself after Buster Keaton. This movie stars Johnny Depp, Mary Stuart Masterson, Aiden Quinn and Julianne Moore. Another great keeper for any collection.
MR. & MRS SMITH. A fun dark comedy starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie about a bored married couple who are surprised to learn that they are both assassins hired by competing agencies to kill each other. A lot of fun!
I hope these movies help to lift your spirits as you recover.
Best wishes and get well soon!
