I have an S Video port on my laptop and one on my tv, but when I use that connection the tv reads nothing.

Chances are you'll have to tell your laptop switch video output to the S-VHS port after you've connected the cable. In some cases it might be a key combination, such as the alt-key sequence that switches to an external monitor. Or you may need to select the TV monitor as an option under your video display properties.

There might also be a utility program to run- on some IBM Thinkpads there's a program called the Presentation Director (under Access IBM), which lets you send output to an external screen or projector. I'm sure Compaq, Toshiba, Dell etc. have similar programs.

do ya have TV tuner card? ya? ok now connect cable in your tv tuner card and tv now press AV in your remote control for your TV now can u see your confuguration? if yes thats nice. if no then go for manual tunning of channel and search auto now if u can see somthing :) thats nice:D best of luck

you need a graphics card with a video output. the sound is no problem.
