oh bad luck. get the head skimmed, and rebuild it. and find out why the cooling system failed. its usually the fan not working, or lack of water due to a split hose orthe pump failed... all cheap parts... its not like rebuilding a diesel and is a days work. cost should be around the 5-600 quid mark.

phone TK commercials on 02476 684237. theyre on J3 or the M6 beside the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. (its only a phone call) and theyll explain it.

or just get a rangy engine. or a P6 3.5 V8, the old rover SD1 engine. the Sd1 has higher compresssion, but the best is the P6b. i fitted one into my landy, i fitted injection3.9 cams and got some new strombergs..pure rock n roll, espeically over a ploughed field! and heres the good part, if i kept it below 60, itd do 34 to the gallon (over 60 it was bloody dangerous and you didnt steer it, so much as aim it in the general direction...and hope.)

Sounds like a sad story best to find a auto dismantler to locate a used engine. rent a hoist remove the bonnet and learn what we mechanics do for a living. If the old motor moves the freelander take it for a good washing down to make your job easier. Dirt falling off into your eyes is not fun. Buy a couple new motor mounts and heater hoses and radiator hoses. Got spanners sockets and tools?

available sure, competitively priced no. sell the petrol and purchase a diesel. Sorry. too plenty to alter to make it sensible with a Freelander. The a million.8 suitable appeared after with the top gasket difficulty solved is a splendidly solid engine. bypass to a solid professional no longer a substantial broker and get the engine fastened. look on the sequence those days in Land Rover proprietor on sorting an exceedingly undesirable a million.8 Freelander. a clean head and head gasket are no longer perplexing to get or in super condition, look in LRO for a professional on the ingredient of you.

Dont bother getting it fixed as the petrol engines were renound for blowing head gaskets,
You would be best off getting a diesel tdi engine fitted instead, it would probably only cost about £200 nore but it would be worth it because you would save on fuel in the long run
