Going to a bar by yourself isnt the safest thing to do these days... plus the men that hang out there arent the most savioury of men either. For a woman, i would advize against it.

My question is why do you want to do that?
If you want to go, just to talk and have a good time (listen to music, dance, talk to people of the male persuasion), that's fine.
However, if you are going with the intention of meeting someone for a serious relationship or because you are looking for sex, it's probably not such a good idea.
Usually, serious relationships don't develop from bar scenes.
Looking for sex, well, that could be dangerous too - diseases, psychos - I don't know, after all the person is a complete stranger, maybe he's been drinking too much and it will be a bad experience all around.
So, my answer is really what are you looking for and what are your boundaries.
The best thing is to know and protect yourself.

I think it depends on the bar. If it is just a meat market type bar, no. If it is the kind where you can just blend in and have a good time and feel safe, then I think it is ok.

I think she can go anywhere she wants to go, bars included.
But I have never had an instance where I went to the bar alone when it wasn't completely boring without meeting friends to talk with, or having a bunch of men there want to keep me company thinking I had to be there for their entertainment since I was alone.
I can take care of myself, and have the ability to ward off strangers that want to be too friendly, but there is safety in numbers if it makes you feel more secure.

i think no, it really dangerous to go there alone bcause u never know what will happen at the bar.

secondly, i gather that u r going to try and meet someone...so i dont see why going solo is such a bad idea...

for me a real girl must be semi conservative, not aggressive, not sex addict or lover, prferably protects her virginity till marriage.
