Well, when i was younger, i got a 99 on the Science subject in those tests that were provided by the state. You know, those tests with all capital letters, and a 97 in Language, and a 93 in Comprehension. Well no one really made a big deal out of it, but it bugged me.

I am a science prodigy, but it was not determined by tests. It was determined in a high school chemistry class. The class was given a college problem (given to demonstrate what we didn't know) and I solved it. I solved it be deriving the theory from the limited knowledge that I had. The teacher with 28 years of experience has never seen a student with this ability.

The bottom: I started taking college courses, become a faculty member at a very young age, etc.

So let me ask you, did you do anything beyond what was taught to you? And did you act on it?

Yeah, I had similar scores on some tests like that when I was younger too. Really all that happened was I would just get pissed when someone would try to tell me something that was wrong, like all thermometers have mercury in them, or a shooting star really was a star falling from the sky, or leaves change color because it gets cold outside, things of that nature.

That's about it. Those tests don't mean much.

You could well be one! But why not build up on that, and, do a project and prove yourself. There is still a lot of scope for original thinking and innovation and inventions, I believe. 97 in language is fantastic, too. And, with comprehension way high, too, you could really go places. I am sure you are doing very well now, and you have a very bright future, if you do not slacken off.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you are prodigy. There are people who are great at taking standardized tests while they do poorly in school. It does mean that you are pretty smart and that was probably influenced by your past habits such as reading. Keep it up.
