Google is not going to risk a multi-billion dollar a year business by allowing it customers and users to get infected with malware. Google has teamed up with another company and is now perfecting a system that will warn you of website that are bad. This will be done when you use the Google Search engine. When you choose a site and click on it, you will be warned if the site downloads spyware, adware, viruses, spams with emails etc.

There is a way to tell if a site and its downloads are safe. McAfee, the AntiVirus program maker, has a site called Site Advisor. Site Advisor test websites and alerts you to bad sites. The web site will explain how it works. I use it and consider it as a first line of defense against Malware. Go here and read about and download if you want it. Even if it wasn't Free it would be worth the money.

If at anytime you are not too sure about downloading software i.e. Google Earth.
When asked if you want to `run` the software or `save` it...
Save it to choice of yours, then do a virus/adware check.
Easy innit :-)
Then if all is OK, you can run it :-)

From a reliable source, preferably google itself. If you have good anti virus it should warn you before anything happens. Good luck, though you don't really need it. Have fun after installing it. Try and find your house, I have.
