They are so similar - great wine and cuisine, cosmopolitan population, fantastic scenery, and all that within pretty small distances - would anyone with insight care to elaborate? Which one would you rather choose?

I have visited both and they are pretty different! Were you planning on staying in a town or in the countryside of Europe. If you want the scenery I say New Zealand- especially where they filmed the Lord of the Rings. Both are great though, whichever you decide.

I would think New Zealand were more laid back compared to fast paced europe. Personally I would choose New Zealand.

As I'm born and grown up in Europe, I would appreciate the green landscapes of New Zealand and its calmnesss.

New Zealand for sure. Nicer and friendly people, fantastic empty open roads.

New Zealand:
- less spoiled
- greener
- farther away from the US (this is the most important thing)
- locals are just great

flow to NZ and you will see for your self it became into each and every thing you predicted and extra, organic elegance.. Pity theres no jobs there, funds no longer so good the two, reason we moved to Australia. extra oportunities right here. yet I nevertheless love my homestead NZ.
