I would have to say a cat, hamsters do not have the ability to survive long outside of a cage while a cat can. Also, cats seem to be much more intelligent then a hamster.

I'd have to say cats... I love them. However hamsters are very cute and do adorable things like backflips off their food bowl.

hamsters are absolutely more adorable than cats. cats are too snooty and independant to be adorable. hamsters are the sweetest little pets ever!!

Got to be hamsters. They are cute, friendly, loving, easier to clean up after, and tend not to suddenly decide they don't like you and scratch merry hell out of your arms for no reason even though you have been stroking them happily for the last 15 minutes. I have hamsters and I love the little critters!
Cats don't have owners they have staff.

cats are nice, but not as cute as hamsters, although hamsters are smelly. It's very relax when u see the hamsters running around. Still i suggest u to keep hamsters because...I keep one too. ;)

cats for sure. At least they show some affection, where hamsters sleep all day and run around that damn wheel all nite long.

I've got one of each - hamsters are easy to look after, but they stink. Cats are great, but their food smells - swings and roundabouts!
