Take the case off the next time you restart. Try to pinpoint where the Sound is coming from.

Possible areas, the Fans (especially the CPU fan), the Hard Drive, the Floppy Drive, the CD-ROM or the Power Supply Fan. If the sound is coming from your speakers, then your sound card may be going bad.

A random Restart is usually a CPU problem. Either the CPU is getting too hot (bad fan), the RAM is getting too hot, or other core portions of the Motherboard (again, fan related). If the CPU gets too hot, it will start frying the resistors that make up the CPU, then your computer will start ot come up with many odd and weird errors and other problems. By that time, the CPU is toast and you will need a new one.

There are Case monitors you can add to monitor your PC temperature, CPU Temp and fan speeds. This way you always know how hot your PC is running.

there are couple of things you can check. Start out with the temperature, CPU fan is one of them or even the power supply. For the system to restart itself randomly like that, could also cause by various reasons. For your case, i firmly believe it's the IRQ conflict of your sound card, or could have been driver itself. Next time, post the exact error message :) it will be more helpful to determine what exactly caused the random reboot. Good luck

most likely the power supply is starting to go 'flaky'... when a p/c starts to reboot it self for no apparent reason.. its due to the power supply 'hesitating'. sort of like what happens when u get a very short power failure.. the buzzing... may be the fan.. and as it warms up.. it goes away...if its a new p/c it should be under warranty.. if not.. it's worth taking to get it fixed.
