Midsummer Night's Dream is a excellent play. It is rich with tradition comedy elements and for most it is not that complex to understand the story. The three worlds that exist in the play make it quite enjoy to watch. It is when these three worlds collide that the action of the play really begins. It is a great play to perform it. A really ensemble piece but the mechanical though small in stage time steal the show most of the time.
Also, remember Shakespeare is meant to be acted not read. Therefore when you go to read it, act out all the parts or get a group of friends together and act it out together.

My school is doing A midsummer night's dream 50s rock and roll, last year we had a community play at the same time as the spring play, so all juniors and seniors were gone, which gave the underclassmen some great parts, so as sophmores my friend and I are expected to get good parts, problem is you have to be able to sing, which, is not good for my case. But if its done right and you have just the right cast it can be perfect. Good Luck, the lines are tough if your doing the old original one!

Yes its actually very good. If you read into the history and double meaning of the play, you will find that it is actually extremely sexual, but Shakespeare does not hand it to you on a silver platter. There is so much sex in this play its actually hilarious. Bottom and Titania... that's all i need to say :)

Yes, it is fabulous! I saw it performed this summer as a musical. The music and costumes were all like 60's rock. Puck was a version of Alice Cooper. It was hilarious and the music was interesting and loud enough to keep my interest.

Hi,
Compared to the other plays of Shakespeare, it is one of the easier reads.
The play follows the love triangle of two women, and what happens when the King of the fairies (yes a fairy) tries to fix the problem.

It was not an easy read (long time ago, in school), but watching the film version (with Mickey Rooney as Puck) was good - if you can find a copy of it, today. . .

no, it is very difficult to read and understand, therfore it is extremely hard to perform unless you know completely whats going on in the story.
