I truly believe that you can.

I have had relatives that seem to have died from a broken heart after their spouses have left them.( passed on) They stopped caring about life any more, stopped being active, stopped eating, it was if they ceased to exist any more.
And then within 6 months of their spouse passing, they passed also.

I know of a dog that died of a broken heart when his owner died of cancer. The dog stopped eating, stopped running, just sat in what was the owners chair all day except to go to the door looking for him, and going to his room at night waiting for him to come go to bed. In less then one month the dog died to. (it was sad watching this dog)

So I believe that people and animals both can die from broken hearts.

It sure feels like it when your heart has been broken into a million pieces. I know of a lot of older couples in which one spouse dies and the other follows very shortly after. I knew a man that died with in a few days of his wife dying and it was totally unexpected. I have always thought that the grief of losing her was too much for him and that he did die of a broken heart.

I believe you can. and unless you have been in that much pain i guess you will never know how much it can hurt. To others they say pull yourself together forget about that person, love is a funny thing. I have looked after old people who have died within weeks of thier partner passing away for no other reason than they gave up on life they were fit and healthy.

I think not so much a broken heart but a reason to live. like when a life partner dies they might not have a will to live anymore and the mind does powerful things and if you don't want to live at all, I believe your mind will let your body go.

It is sometimes called "dying from a broken heart" when something extremely tragic happens in your life that causes you to lose the will to live.

yes, my nan died 7 days after her husband died. she was missing him too much. she was not sick or something. she only pass away in her sleep.
i also think that you can get soooo depress from your broken heart that you will decide to take your own life...... that causes you to die because of a broken heart.
it is very sad though.
hope you will heal soon.
take care and God bless

Yeah, I believe so. I think my uncle died of a broken heart after his wife passed away suddenly after over 50 years of marriage. They were in their eighties though....so who knows?
