Connor did not win the Prize in 1985 when he killed the Kurgan; the Gathering has only just begun, and is apparently a long process; and there are still plenty of Immortals left.
Immortal terrorist Liam O'Rourke killed Duncan, I think.
I didn't watch the series, but found the above on the websites below.

actually the series ended with everyone thinking that Duncan was dead but he wasn't and niether was conner the came out with Highlander the Final gathering a couple years ago and it showed Duncan being held Prisoner
conner did Died but Duncan was the last one of their kind at the end of the movie
