how can i make sure the computer knows the ipod is there? try not for the ipod trouble shooting page. sadly they cant help me. but u can! thanks so much!

try restarting your iPod, or recconecting it. if you have an ipod nano or video, hold down the center and menu buttons at the same time until ur ipod restarts.

u may be ahving a problem with u r usb ports or drivers.
try connecting u r ipod to another pc or connect some other usb port hardware on ur pc.
then u'll know which device is not working properly.
