A very young chimpanzee can be tamed, but as they become adults they get very aggressive. The ones you see on TV are juveniles; as they mature, they are either put down or given to zoos. Gibbons aren't generally tamed (they are too difficult to capture), but orangutans have (they're the reddish coloured apes you see on TV and movies). However, they behave the same way as chimps as they get older.

Plenty of tame chimps about, I am not sure about Gibbons. Maybe from a very early age,

I DO BELIEVE YOU CAN TAME A CHIMPANZEE IF YOU RAISE IT FROM BIRTH I DON'T BELIEVE YOU CAN IF YOU GET IT FROM THE WILD.
