Make Euro iPod's Louder
iPods sold in Europe are crippled in that they only put out about 75% of the volume that their US counterparts do (all ready too little). This is due to certain European contries (mainly France) capping the volume output of all portable electronic audio devices. This guy has figured out how to remove the cap and listen to the iPod at it's originally intended volume. Schweet.

My lad was moaning about exactly the same thing, aparrently the volume has been limited to prevent ear damage and subsequent legal claims.

We tried some different earpieces and found some that were quite a bit louder, but the battery doesnt seem to last as long.

Turn the volume up, you can buy special speakers, but you can get some for about £3 that you can just plug in. Not fancy, but it does the job. You can get headphones that allow it to go louder, but im not sure where from.

my mate had this problem and he discovered there is a volume level when you actually convert your cd's to mp3's on itunes. He converted his tracks again with the volume up and now its fine. I don't know how to do it though because i use an i-river. I-pods and i-tunes are both a pain in the ****

You can buy a speaker set, exclusively for the iPod. Check Argos, they have it, or any brand name retailer I guess.

Then turn that baby up!!
