ANSWER: EARL BOYKINS! Look up his biography, his playing highlights, hell even look up what color underwear he wears. The man is an inspiration to short basketball players (he's only 5'5 and plays in the NBA). It definitly is possible. Also Spud webb is a good inspiration. Hoopsking.com offers alot of programs that can help you increase things such as your vertical leap and speed, which are necessary for short ballers.

It really depends on whether you have the skills to play basketball. At 5'11" you should have the speed, quickness and athletic ability. I know a lot of shorter guys who played basketball and were very successul, guys like Spud Webb Mugsy Bouges, these guys are tremendous basketball athletes. So to answer your question? Yes you can, if you have the skills and the desire.

If you're so good that you can dominate players that are 6'2" and 6'3" then yeah! Certainly you can have a good college career, but you've gotta be WAY better than people who've got a few inches on you.

Hey, Nate Robinson and Spud Webb both won the NBA dunk contest, and they're both under 5'10" - so it' s not impossible, just not very likely.

How well do you play ball? I'm 5'3" and played b'ball in high school and for my small college team. It's not always about the height. I was small, but fast and could run down the court with little effort....those tall chicks didn't have a chance! The bigger they are, the harder they fall....

Getting a chance to play in the team shall not be because of your height but due to the way you play(how well you play)

It also depends on your age! You can be 6'8" and be 50, but you're not going to play for a basketball team.
Are you in high school?
College?
Your skill level would help a lot if you're "short".
