The best answer would honestly be,to go out and by a measuring spoon.If you can't do that,then 3 ml is about an equivalent to 3/4 teaspoon.
With children though it is necessary to give the accurate dose of medication b/c of their weight and liver/kidney immaturity.In the hospital,I know even being a "little off" can have devastating results. With my 4 children,I always used a measuring spoon.

Anytime I get a prescription filled, the pharmacist always ask if I have a correct measuring utensil. You can buy a little plastic measuring spoon for less than a dollar.
