Why do some people answer as if the asker must be bigoted toward them...?

even if none of the asker's answers or questions indicate a feeling one way or the other? What are they so defensive of that a neutral person's words can elicit such emotion?

I notice that too!! I wonder why????? Perhaps they are paranoid, no......... they are paranoid.
