1st of all id like to thank u for trying to quit. i really think u can do it. when the urge to smoke comes, go jogging... just knock urself out, or go to the gym... the important thing is to get urself tired enough towards nightfall that u can go 2 bed earlier... u can use crackers instead of cigs as a replacement so that u feel more relaxed bcuz ure putting sumthin in ur mouth, but its not cigs... reward urself in wutever way u like for every day u dont smoke until u lose the urge

you should be nearly over the nicotine part by now but its the hand habit that is hardest to break. you just reach automatically even if you dont want one
if you were a girl I would say knit or crochet but since you are a bloke go out and fix a car or something else that will keep your hands occupied. and eat apples. If you cant be bothered biting them then cut them into pieces sand keep them in the fridge
try not to drink coffee or anything that you used to smoke with. As the nicotine craving fades-- that should be about a week unless you were really heavy--you have toi find something to occupy your hands. Whatever you like doing do it. and congratulations !!!!!!! dont give up now
the first week i s the HARDEST after that its a piece of cake
I KNOW.

If this is it for you, best thing to do is tell everyone you talk with and everyone in your family that you've quit. Helps in holding the line. Stay away from situations where you'd usually light up. After a while, the smell of smoke will probably nauseate you. Get out in the air and excercise. The feeling of lungs in recovery will give you great incentive to stick to your decision.

Please, just don't become one of those rabid antismokers just because you quit. Good luck

i quit just before the new year and you know what? for a while i would get the urge, seeing my smoking daughter would trigger the desire. The only thing that kept me from relapse was this question, do i want to smoke or do i want to quit? i am a person who truly believes that we can conquer our own demons. ibelieve that we can control our desires because they are just that desires. i do not like to be controlled by wants. i don't like having to have something that really isn't good for ME. i like to be in control of myself, not be controlled. years ago i had a drug habit that i also decided that enough was surely enough and have been cocaine free for more than 10 years. just decide to stop. if you are not ready you won't, if you are truly ready although it will be a little struggle you will do it and feel more control over your life because you are the one in control.right?

Stop counting the days. Do you want to quit smoking or do you want to break your record without smoking, and then smoke again?
If you really want to quit smoking it doesn't matter how many days you are without smoking.
What matters is that you decide that you are not doing it again and stop caring about it.
But then all this smoking conversation has probably already made you smoke again.
I hope not.

drink water, be careful not to eat too much as i have put on over a stone (16lb) in 7 months.... when you first give up the urge to smoke is strong but ignore it because every craving lasts a few seconds and eventually will go away!!!

You can't really prevent the urge I don't think. But maybe if every time you get the urge, find something else to do. Try chewing gum maybe??..don't know, but...GOOD LUCK!! :)

The urge will last for years. You are doomed.

Or you could just not light that first one and you are OK.
Good luck.

Well think of it this way: Do you want to live of life of cancer and die of a horrible death? Or live a life with minor health problems and die someway else. Even thought both ways you'll die sometime, the important thing is, how do you want to live, how long do you want to live? Do you want all your money wasted on doctors cutting you open and try to fix you or waste your money on a nice vacation? You decide.
