Atp tour uses electronic line calling, Shot Spot, to double check line judge calls. A player has 1 "challenge" per set, to see if the line judge is incorrect.

The new O3 Prince racket series does away with grommets and replaces them with large O's, supposedly providing more power and feel due to less friction imposed on the string. Rackets are becoming lighter by using graphite, tunsgten, and other various light weight materials to further strengthen the frame.

Tennis shoes have been known to put tire rubber on their soles to provide a longer lasting shoe. Last year Babolat and Michelin Tire combined efforts in making a shoe, with Andy Roddick promoting it.

There are a lot of innovations going towards bettering tennis, and to provide equipment to suit the needs of everyone, amateur or pro.

There are many rackets but it depends on your style. If you could produce power yourself and need control get Microgel Prestige, you won't reget it, amazing for baseliners, or get K-Blade however it is harder. (Head Liquidmetal Prestige isn't bad either but it is hard to find these days.) I personally don't like Babalot Pure Drive because it is too stiff however the Babalot Pure Drive Team is much better because it more flexable. I never used a Speedport O3 but I would get the black one because I heard it was good somehow. Get rackets Mid size because you could get more control of the ball.

They now use some type of electronics or lasers to judge whether a serve is a fault (in or out). They also use radar to judge the speed of a serve.
