your a computer expert ? lol

Remote Assistance
click on start/help
click on invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance

Invite someone you trust to help you. Using an Internet connection, anyone running Windows XP can chat with you, view your screen, and with your permission, work on your computer.

if you're both using Windows XP you can use remote access.....

he needs to go to start -> help and support -> Invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance -> fill in everything, save the file and send it to you by email.

when you get it double click on it, fill in the password you chose and wait a minute - it should connect you.

then you need to click "take control" and when he clicks "ok" on his side you will have control of hs mouse and will be able to install it for him

Instead of using Active X - you are making it far to complex.

although it uses ip transers it isn't a major thing you need to know. I guess you wouldn't of heard of Remote Assistance due to your low experiance level.

It cen be found under help and support :) Good luck

A lot of remote control problems are not able to work around firewalls and proxies. Try GotomyPc.com . They work in every scenario.

I've heard of people controlling other people's computers using Active X, whatever that is.

If you do not know the answer to this then do not introduce yourself as a computer expert. You make yourself seem ignorant. Figure it out "expert."
