I personally think that it isn't a sin, follow my thought pattern..... god is LOVE, and if a person truly loves a person, and they are of the same sex, then god has his fingers in that, cause satan can lie sooo badly, but satan can't make you feel love, satan is the opposite, satan can make you feel infatuation, and all those, but if you truly love someone, then satan CAN'T touch it

please if you have anything to say share it

I'm just sick of reading verses on here that people pick out of the Bible. You have to read the whole chapter folks. You have to understand that the word of God, is not all the word of God. Paul wrote against it several times, yes - but the context, the context is just as important.

I am baffled at the stupidity of some of these so called "Christians." If you're going to preach, you need to get your ducks in a row. I will gladly discredit your rediculous statements based on my knowledge of Greek and Hebrew. It's like other things;

It's a sad fact that the truths of evolution are undeniable and oftentimes, Christians find it difficult to accept that it is possible that evolution is part of the creation process. World religions since the very first civilizations have created their own stories of how the world began, but it is our unfortunate disposiiton to be in such a new country founded on such secular beliefs. If you study world religions previous to Christ, you will be amazed at the stories found within their faith...they will look familiar. The Bible, being translated upon the request of King James brought about a new order of interpretation. As we do today, the laws, social expectations, were translated to fit the need of the time. In the same section that Paul speaks against homosexuality, he also mentions that women she not speak out in church, and many other abominations that nobody wants to discuss. A heterosexual minister with the Episcopal Church presented an awesome sermon breaking down the biblical passages that pertain to homosexuality, by this minister going over the chapter instead of reciting the verses, the bigger picture was seen by the congregation.
There are tribes in Africa where the male must have a wife and a male companion. Native Americans honored homosexuals and looked at them as special healers and/or allowed them to work beside the women in their daily duties. Ancient Rome, the nobles had young man servants who done a little more than served coffee.
Our ignorant culture hides many truths and understandings. You have to ask yourself, why do the most educated folks, especially those of the hard sciences, choose not to believe in God. Things to consider.
I will be glad to forward the sermon fore mentioned if anyone would like to read it. charlesboster@yahoo.com OR if you have a rebuttal against my statement. Let me warn you before I attained my doctorate in sociology, I did attend seminary - I have a sorted past, but I know my business...I can assure you of that.
Kind Regards, CB

Ive been saying this for years. I am engaged to a man I love and he loves me. Yes we may have had lots of partners in the past, but isn't that common with younger folk anyways, straight and gay alike? Our hormones are crazy and we walk around like horny Little devils until we are ready to settle down and LOVE and receive LOVE.
I know I have been blessed by God with this man and I will not let any other imperfect sinning human being tell me other wise.

Why's it even a topic of contention? There are so many other problems in the world, and the best thing fanatical religious groups can go on and on about is peoples' personal lives?

What about God's view on WAR? Greed in government? Abuse of power? And the one thing that's debated the most in the religious and political forums is homosexuality.

Congratulations. You've been deceived. Misled. They've gotten to you to the point where you're actually starting these discussions that don't belong at a dinner table, let alone congressional hearings! It's a red herring. Just like the Jonbenet Ramsey coverage and everything else these terible people can throw at you to distract every American person from what's REALLY going on.

Mostly, I agree. But, don't you think that it would be possible for Satan to create an ilusion of love? Many people do not know what love really is, just because they are trying so hard to recognise it, so they can be easilly deceived by such a deity as Satan is.
Just a thought...

Being gay is not a sin. But engaging in homosexual behavior is.

Satan cannot make you feel love, true. But he can, and often does, deceive.

He's very good at making us think that the sins we commit aren't really sins.

Satan himself is the great deceiver and, unfortunately for certain fundamentalists, he has masqueraded as a quasi Christ-like figure to spread his fear, hatred, intolerance and ignorance regarding love in certain of today's societies. The same goes for war, greed, justice, the rights of man, etc. etc. The serenity of the True Lord/Creator is Love in all its pure forms regardless of gender, political/religious beliefs or whatever. The founding fathers didn't want separation of church and state for nothin'; how conveniently They forget this!

Homosexuality is not a sin. It's not a sickness. It's not a disorder, a disease, a dysfunction, a delusion, a phase, a maladjustment, a mere behavior... and it's STILL not a sin.

It's a healthy sexual orientation.

I think being gay is a sin. Probably the gay community don't feel the same I do. I cannot convince them and they cannot convince me. (it's like telling a paranoiac that he is paranoiac - and he thinks there's a great conspiracy behind this).

God is love (that's very true). But God is not the excitement that you feel after having sex. That is called orgasm.
Oh and about gay love... Why do almost all of homosexuals change their partners so often ? They have let's say 1000 partners in their life ? Do you think that's love ?

Being gay in itself is not a sin. It is when one commits the sexual act with another person of the same sex that it becomes such. Sex is for the purpose of procreating. It is not for the sheer pleasure of it. And since two people of the same sex cannot have children, then it is wrong for them to engage in the act. Sexual pleasure is a privilege reserved for married couples.
