My mother had one recently. A lot of people she knows had one and they said that it really helped their back pain.

One one side, it will be easier to find bras, swimsuits, and other clothes that will fit you. It will reduce back pain (if you are D or above). Not to mention guys will have a greater chance of looking at your face. :D

On the other side, it will take about a month to be able to go back to a desk job, and longer for active jobs. You will have to find new clothes. For a month you will have to wear super supportive bras so your "new" breasts won't be harmed. My mother had to keep her drains in for about a week (a drain is a small suction bulb that keeps blood from pooling in a surgical area). She complained that they were really irratating. Also, she had to keep her bandages on for about a week straight.

Unless you have a super-caring husband, a daughter in the house old enough to help you, or another person you wouldn't mind seeing your breasts and helping you with bandages, helping you with reaching stuff, and general taking care of you for at least a week, don't bother with getting surgery.

My mother looks great now and says sh's glad she got one. If you decide to get one, best of luck to you! Ocshner's (sp?) Clinic in New Orleans was great.

I had a reduction in January, and it has drastically improved my life! Cosmetically, they are now up where they're supposed to be instead of hanging out in the neighborhood of my belly buttton, and my clothes look and fit so much better. I actually look thinner b/c the huge boobs were making me look much bigger than I actually was. Now I'm able to enjoy exercising and I'm getting back into shape. I can't think of any cons that would stop me from recommending the surgery, but the recovery is a little rough at first. Also, the scars are not pretty and take a long time to fade. However, if you're as uncomfortable as I was you won't care about that! I used Dr. Henry Mentz in Houston and highly recommend him! www.mybeautifulbody.com. Best of luck!

Well, I'll never have THAT problem, but I hear it will greatly reduce the pains in the back and shoulders from having to carry around all that extra weight up front. Your clothes would fit better and you'll be less self-conscious about your chest size. People (men) won't just stare at your chest all the time and just might notice that there is a real person behind the boobs.

I haven't had it done but I watched it being done on a Discovery channel episode. It's pretty ugly. They have to remove your nipples and then section out a piece of breast, push it back into shape and then sew your nipples back on.
