I am not sure about the Philippines but I do feel like technology is taking away traditions and values. I believe that technology will be society's downfall. Of course we all fall into technologies hands, including me...but at what cost. People don't really get together anymore, they talk via cell phone or internet. Nobody writes letters anymore, they email...which for some reason just doesn't feel personal. Companies don't all meet together to debate, they video conference. Thousands of people are going into severe debt because of credit cards. One tradition that I know is slowly disappearing is Thanksgiving. Large groups of family would get together and cook together, and eat and talk. The cooking part was a big part of the whole tradition...but now people go out to eat somewhere or have it catered in. Come on!! The list could go on and on. Although I use things as they come out I really think it is all of this technology crap that is causing people to lose good old family values.

Tradition and technology both co-exist. Even with technology we don't change our traditions. It is either circular or sin wave. The technology brings change and after some time it brings the same things of culture are required.

The human race has a fine tradition of using technology, dating back to when we first decided to wear clothes. Or plant seed. This sounds suspiciously like a school question. Do your own work, slackey.

Technology and traditions are not incompatible. There is always a resistance to change including technological change resulting from our fear of unknowns. However when technology proves itself it is accepted. If it were not so we would be using stone tools, which were once the tradition.

I share your anxiety.
Logically there may be thee pure variants to answer the question - incompatible, compatible, co-existence.
And again logically, tradition implies saving some set of behavioral, ethic norms untouched, unchanged thus tradition lives and is carried from one generation to another and performs its role of social institute. While technology equals to development.
It is a simple syllogism you need to come to.

Totally disagree. Look at Al-Jazeera, promoting every rant by insane islamo-nazis from the 8th century. There's tradition for you! And modern technology serving it up in nauseating detail.

Technology always advances-ever changing with the times.
Tradition is exact opposite-handing down of beliefs in a continuing pattern.

I don't agree at all. Because technology helps you learn, and to develop your own tradition, not to undo it.
Technology & tradition are perfectly compatible, depending upon you.
