10x30 is not a good size for asto viewing. The instrument does not pass enough light for you to see a lot and a magnification of 10 not high enough to see much detail. However it can be fun to use as a starter and will give hours of pleasure.

A telescope of 10 x 30 mm is a very basic telescope.

It has an eye aperture of 3 mm ( 30 mm / 10), so the amount of light it provides to the eye is reasonable. In the night the eye pupil can open to some 5 mm.

10X magnification is not very much but it should be able to see in greater details larger objects such as the moon (craters), Jupiter, Mars, Venus, etc. Remember that Galileo had a telescope of about 14X - 20X with a small objective lens and a very small field of view. With it, he did alot of things, such as recorded the positions of four of the major moons of Jupiter, phases of Venus and Craters of the moon.

I'm no astronomy expert but the telescope has a 10x magnifacation, a 30mm object (front) lens and a 3 deg field of view. that's a 3 deg triangle measurement form the end of the telescope, out, looking. Try asking the question in the astronomy and space catagory.
