I remember him when he played basketball at Notre Dame in the 70s... he also played High School Basketball at Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey...He was about 5 years older than me... I did play against his younger brother Tom when we played Christian Brothers...

Incredibly, my name isn't on their list for the 70s... probably because we didn't subscribe to the Star-Ledger LOL
They have some great players listed...I played against a couple of them...
I remember hearing that he was playing over in Europe (he was drafted by the Kings, I think, but did not make the NBA)... but that's really the last I heard about him.
I guess his family was fairly prominent back at that time... they may still be living in the same area... I'm not really sure what town they were from, because Christian Brothers was a parochial school, and could 'recruit' players from anywhere.... so I don't really remember what town the Paternos were from.

Bill Pareno came back from Europe in 2000 after his father died in Spring Lake NJ and came to work for me in Banking. Bill is back in Europe coaching basketball. You can google him I believe he is in Germany.
